Campbell River Employment Foundations Society was incorporated as a non-profit society in January of 1994 after an eight year relationship with the Strathcona Employment and Economic Development Society and The Job Project's Employment Training Programs and Services.
In response to the Society's delivery of service on a regional basis our legal name was changed in February 1999 to the North Island Employment Foundations Society (NIEFS).
NIEFS is a registered charitable organization that receives funding from federal and provincial government ministries, unions, bands, private companies and corporations. We have provided work transition and employment supports to over 3,000 people in the past year to assist them in finding employment, creating new work opportunities for themselves or to assist them in their relocation to work opportunities in other communities.
NIEFS is a community organization concerned about the changes taking place in our economy and how these changes affect peoples' access to employment and training.
