Step 2 - Identify Options
Career Exploration

Once you have a chosen a career or occupation that matches your present interests, values, and employment goals you need to find out more information such as:

  • the range of work possibilities and wages
  • the skills or training you need to get hired
  • the most likely places where you would find employment
  • the present and future trends for employment opportunities

It is also very important to make sure you are planning to enter a field with a future, especially if you are thinking about further training or school. In this section are websites that will offer general information about the future trends and prospects of different types of work or occupations. These provide BC or Canada wide information, which will be a good place to start. If you need to know more about the job trends in your community, contact our labour market specialists or your employment advisor.
