North Island Employment (NIEFS) was established in 1986 to offer
comprehensive employment-related services to both job seekers and
local employers. Funded by the provincial and federal governments,
services are provided at several convenient locations throughout
Vancouver Island, including Port Hardy, Port McNeill,
Every year, our trained staff provide work transition and employment supports to over 3,000 people, helping them to find employment, plan a career or access training funds. In addition, we help employers advertise for potential employees or access federal and provincial training programs such as the Skills for Success (SFS) Program for youth ages 15-30,the New Employee Wage Subsidy (NEWS) Program or the Skills Development Employment Benefit Program (SDEB).
