Program Offers Skills for Success
The Skills for Success (SFS) program encourages employers to mentor
youth ages 15-30, who are
currently not enrolled in school,
at no cost to the employer.
Youth are paid during the work experience through North
Island Employment, which is funded by Service Canada.
This
federally
funded initiative also offers a youth mentor
and skills enhancement workshops throughout the youth’s 12-week work
experience.
The mentor works with employers to help ensure that both the
employer and the youth can optimize the work experience.
Youth who successfully complete their commitments are
eligible to receive a $500 bonus.
