Skills for Success

Who Can Apply

To qualify youth must:

  • Meet age requirements

  • Have encountered barriers to employment because of a challenging economy and lack of applicable work experience

  • Not be in school and/or returning to school

  • Be eligible to work in Canada 

Program Supports

Participants benefit through:

  • A paid work experience and $500 bonus after successful completion of the 12-week program

  • On-the-job skill development opportunities through work experience placements in the youth's area of interest

  • The opportunity to explore career choices and make personalized plans to meet the youth's employment goals

  • Relevant workshops, including Work Safe BC and Level 1 First Aid

  • New employer contacts and positive work references upon successful completion

  • Enhanced connection to local community service providers
