JOB SUMMARY
The Concession Worker provides guidance to job coached individuals employed at the Snack Shack concession stand at the outdoor pool while assisting with the daily operations of the snack shack.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Calculate daily inventory of supplies for the Snack Shack
• Complete daily deposits
• Provide guidance to job coached individuals employed at the Snack Shack
• Assist in setting up of concession including stocking and restocking sale and non-sale items, keeping concession clean and filling out a time sheet
• Assist in taking food orders from customers and processing payment
• Assist in closing of concession, inventory count, garbage disposal, cleaning of all cooling utensils, and cleanup of outside area of concession
• Perform other duties as required including landscape maintenance, light cleaning duties, and additional support for adult day programs
Qualifications & Experience:
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• Experience in the food industry is preferred
• 3 - 6 month’s prior job related experience working with people with intellectual and/or physical disabilities is an asset
• Ability to handle money and make change
• Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills
• Ability to provide a calm, healthy, positive role model to participants
• Ability to problem solve with participants as well as determine their needs and wants
• Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations and to remain calm in difficult situations while ensuring everyone is treated with respect and dignity
• Ability to work as a productive and interactive team member
• Ability to recognize aspects of a participant’s life that require support and assistance
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a variety of work situations
• Self-motivated and high energy
• Basic computer skills including word processing
REQUIREMENTS
• Emergency First Aid – Industry certificate and CPR
• Food Safe Certification
• Consent to a Criminal Record Check
• Negative Tuberculin test
• Physician’s Approval
• Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
• Have been registered as full-time students in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year
• Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
• Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations
