Details:
Successful candidates will be expected to support daily museum operations by actively engage with visitors while assisting staff with various projects including marketing initiatives, research, outreach and programming.
As the oldest institution of its kind in Canada, designed specifically to house a repatriated collection, Nuyumbalees Cultural Centre is uniquely positioned to provide a progressive, interactive experience for students. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with senior staff and community members on projects reflective of our traditions while embracing emerging trends and technologies.
Work will be between 16-20 weeks depending on funding, beginning in late May and proceeding through the summer to early September.
Qualifications & Experience:
Seeking students with an interest in history, aboriginal studies, museum studies or a related field.
Experience working with people and teams is an asset but not mandatory.
To be eligible for the work term, candidates must meet the Young Canada Works qualifications, including but not limited to; being between the ages of 16 and 30, a Canadian citizen or have permanent resident status, having been a full time student in the semester before the work term, and intending to return to full time studies in the fall.
