Details:
Reporting to the Chef, the First Cook is responsible for the proper and timely preparation of meals including, but not limited to, food service, food safety and supervision of kitchen staff. Your duties as a First Cook include, but are not limited to, the following:
• To set up all food preparation and serving facilities as per client requirements.
• Maintain a clean kitchen, dining and food storage areas at all times.
• Prepare high quality, nutritious meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks) according to client scheduling and within the menu plan
• Be flexible and respond to client needs and food preferences of the work crew.
• Adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety regulations and Safe Food Handling/Health Unit regulations.
• Adhere to all relevant Outland and our client’s policies and procedures.
• Prepare and send food orders to Outland or grocery supplier on a timely basis.
• Manage inventory.
• Maintain accurate, signed records of meals served.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Large scale camp cooking experience is an asset.
• Current Food Safe certification is an asset.
• Current First Aid Level 1 Certification is an asset.
