Knight Inlet Lodge is a world-renowned grizzly bear viewing lodge situated in the southern portion of the
Great Bear Rainforest. Since 1996 Knight Inlet Lodge has facilitated wildlife viewing experiences and
eco-adventures for discerning individuals, couples and families.

Realities of Work:
This is a full-time seasonal position, employment term runs from late May through to mid-October, and
begins with up to 7 days of on-site training, interpretation skill development, program content
familiarization, and bear guide certification training.
Preference will be given to candidates who are available to work through the entire season without
interruption. Once the guiding season commences guides are scheduled for 10 days on, 4 days off
rotations.
Qualifications & Experience:
Required Certifications;
• Current Wilderness First Aid with Level C CPR & AED certification or equivelent;
• Commercial Small Vessel Operator's Proficiency certificate (SVOP);
• Marine Emergency Duties A3 (MED A3);
• Restricted Operators Certificate Marine(ROC-M);
• Sea Kayak Day Guide and/or Instructor Certification;
Note: Candidates with some of the above noted and or other relevant certifications as well as the
appropriate wilderness leadership and interpersonal skills who are willing to get the required
certification may be considered.
A background in biology is always an asset. You will be expected to learn and retain pertinent
background material provided for presentation to guests. Public speaking experience is helpful, you
need to effectively communicate with guests and provide engaging evening presentations. Second
language skills are also an asset.
