POSITION OVERVIEW:
ABC Recycling is seeking a Business Development Representative to be based out of our Campbell River location. Reporting to the Manager, Business Development, the job holder will be responsible achieving profitability goals and personal sales results throughout the island region. This is accomplished by maintaining service levels to retain and grow current accounts/vendors and prospecting for new accounts.
This role is ideally suited for self-starter, who can thrive in both industrial and office settings and has the ability to communicate effectively with customers at all levels. The right person will have strong business acumen, excellent organization skills, and the ability to take on significant responsibility while working independently.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Proactively identify and pursue new business prospects for ABC and develop existing relationships to achieve growth in volume and market share
Follow up on sales referrals received from all sources
Attend and present at meetings and functions/events necessary to build and retain customers
Support the Business Development Manager and Campbell River Regional Manager in the development, communication and implementation of the ABC strategic business development and marketing plans
Maintain the customer relationship database and ensure regular contact
Implement account management strategies for current and potential customers to ensure loyalty and sales growth
Collaborate with Operations to ensure client service needs are communicated and service levels are consistent with ABC service standards
Support the strong customer service culture within the business development team and model and foster the ABC customer service culture throughout the organization
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum five years of successful achievement in sales/account management roles in the waste recycling industry or comparable service-oriented heavy industry, ideally in the BC, Alberta and/or Pacific Northwest
Post-secondary degree or diploma in business administration, marketing or sales, or equivalent experience
MS Office experience as well as some CRM exposure is an asset

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Intermittent travel around the region and to our Nanaimo location will be required.
