Kwakiutl Band Council (KBC) is seeking a dynamic individual to engage our community in positive health and wellness activities through best practices and clinical health indicators as a full-time (35 hrs/wk) Mental Health and Addictions Services Counsellor at the Kwakiutl Health Centre in Fort Rupert—just outside of Port Hardy, BC. This is a term position.
Qualifications & Experience:
The ideal candidate has a Master’s Degree and be a registered, or be eligible to register as a professional clinical member of a regulatory body. Must be a self-starter and team oriented. You will also be a role model with a minimum 2 years of continuous sobriety and a drug-free lifestyle with familiarity of residential schools issues and the effect of residential schools upon First Nations’ People. The MHASC must demonstrate clear professional boundaries and appropriate accountability measures, file-management, eMR charts/records of interventions, and time management.
