Summary:
NICSS’ Community Links Program, is currently looking for casual on-call employees who are able to apply a person-centered and strengths-based approach to working with clients who demonstrate diverse abilities. We offer several programs, including: Supported Independent Living (Outreach), Day Program (Community Inclusion), Supported Employment and Personalized Supports. We are looking for people who believe in the abilities of others and who are committed to supporting individuals to establish and reach their goals, while feeling like a part of the community where they live.

Our casual on-call positions can often result in working a considerable number of hours. If you have a positive attitude, consider yourself to be a team-player and have the ability to work between our programs, we want to hear from you!
Qualifications & Experience: 
The Ideal Candidate will:

Excel at developing trust-based and supportive relationships with team members, program participants, caregivers/family and community partners
Have post-secondary education/experience in Community Support; Youth Care; Health Care Aide; Resident Care/Home Support; Mental Health; or related education/experience supporting people with developmental disabilities
Be experienced in Person-Centered Planning and/or strengths-based planning
Demonstrate flexibility with a willingness to adapt and change as individual and programming needs may evolve. This position requires one to one support, as well as group setting support
Assist in personal care, meal preparation, laundry and other in-house tasks
Prove to be an effective communicator (oral, written and listening) with a strong awareness of cross-cultural practices, traditions and values
A willingness to continue learning and growing alongside the people that we serve

Essential Qualifications:

Valid Driver's License, clean abstract and reliable vehicle
Approved Ministry of Justice Criminal Records Check
Level 1 first aid w/CPR (or willing to obtain prior to start date)
Food Safe Certification (or willingness to obtain)
