Retail Sales Associate / Keyholder

The Retail Sales Associate, under the direction of the Team Lead, is primarily responsible for greeting customers and providing guidance on where they may find items within the store. The Retail Sales Associate will generate sales, advise customers on the use and care of merchandise, and provide advice concerning specialized products or services. This role will participate in merchandising and promotional activities, and must maintain a high level of customer service at all times. Be responsible for opening and closing the store.

Responsibilities
• Greet customers when they arrive, ask if they need assistance, and guide customers to where they may find items within the store.
• Process sales transactions at the POS (point of sale) counter
• Advise customers on the use and care of merchandise, and provide advice concerning specialized products or services.
• Check inventory in both locations when necessary to find items in stock
• Maintain a high level of customer service.
• Prepare merchandise for the sales floor and assist with freight and merchandise displays
• Participate in all manner of store maintenance and cleaning
• Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge.
• Maintain a professional appearance, demeanour, and attitude at all times.
• Build rapport with customers and provide them with genuine guidance and support
• Train new sales staff as needed (buddy system)
• Performs other duties as required.
