Mountainside Support Services Ltd. has part-time positions available for day, afternoon and night shifts.. Looking for staff to work every second weekend, starting Friday at 3:30pm until Monday at 8:00am.
The Residential Support Worker is responsible for the supervision, care, and program implementation of youth with a variety of complex needs and behaviours. They will ensure the safety and development of the youth in accordance with the company mission; to create a home and program that makes the youth feel loved, safe, supported, valued and respected while fostering personal growth. Mountainside Support Services Ltd. is looking to hire staff that conduct themselves in a caring and professional manner consistent with our mission statement and the rights of children and youth in care.
The Support Worker will be working in a home that has been established for the youth. Our goal is to create a home for the youth where each one of his needs is met. Some of the main responsibilities of the Support Worker position are:
• Implementing the youths daily schedule
• Implementing Behaviour Support Plans to meet the needs to complex youth
• Providing transportation to and from school, attending school meetings, monitoring progress and supporting at-home learning
• Providing transportation to and participating in various forms of recreation
• Planning, shopping for, and preparing meals
• Providing opportunities for positive dialogue and interaction
• Maintaining a clean, safe and caring environment
• Providing transportation to various other community supports and opportunities for social interaction
• Supporting the youth and helping the youth work toward his pre-established goals
• Communicating with other members of the youths support team, and updating management with a daily report
All workers will be paid an hourly wage. Generally, day shift workers will receive $18.18-$19.28 per hour and the night shift workers (sleep shift) will receive $14.00 per hour. Some on-call work may be required. Vacation pay will be paid at 4%.

Qualifications & Experience:
• Approved Criminal record check
• Experience working with youth; experience working with youth with Autism and/or complex behaviours is preferred
• Valid unrestricted driver’s license, personal vehicle, proof of insurance and clean drivers abstract
• Relevant educational qualifications (Human Service Worker or equivalent)
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Willingness to work as part of a team
• Willingness to engage in professional development
