Duties:
Supervise staff
Manage all personnel matters, manage recruitment process with the Executive Director as needed
Oversee the development of programs, work plans and reporting
Ensure adherence to policies and procedures
Coordinate and facilitate regular staff meetings as a team and with individual staff
Maintain and manage statistical data
Complete and submit qualitative and quantitative reports for each program
Under the supervision of the Executive Director, this position is responsible for the overall success of program delivery, the development, planning, implementation and evaluation of programs that respond to the needs and aspirations of urban Aboriginal people. The Program Director will also ensure that programs align with the contract funds and that there is adherence to the accepted policies and procedures manual. This position will be responsible for supervising staff and will assist in financial management. The Program Director participates in facilitation, leadership development, mentorship, community development that strengthens the lives of Aboriginal people in a positive manner. The Program Director is responsible in the absence of the Executive Director. Salary will commensurate with education and experience.
Further job duties include:
Work with finance manager and staff to ensure adherence to budget plans
Coordinate and maintain professional development for staff as appropriate
Oversee mandatory filing and records management for all staff
Participate in community engagements as required
Out of town travel and training as required
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum undergraduate degree in administration, human resources or an equivalent experience with a diploma or certificate in a related field
Class 5 drivers’ license and your own transportation
Familiarity with Microsoft Office: word, excel and publisher
Strong ability to develop service plans and work plans
Abundance of experience working with aboriginal families and aboriginal communities and MCFD
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Good understanding of the Friendship Centre Movement
Willing to complete a criminal records check through the Ministry of Justice
