Details:
Deliver outdoor water conservation education over the summer on behalf of Strathcona Regional District.. Through neighbourhood bicycle patrols and visits, the educator will engage residents to raise awareness on the best strategies to reduce water consumption in summer. Position is great for building public relations skills. Work will include split shifts and weekend or evening work
Qualifications & Experience:
University/college student with background in environmental education or related field . Characteristics that would make a candidate successful in this position include:
• Ability to engage the public, listen respectfully and deliver the water conservation messages
• Ability to remain calm and centered when faced with a sometimes confrontational public
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills: Oral and written
• Computer literate: Excel, Word, Google Docs
• Flexibility, creativity, positive attitude
• Willingness to learn
• Can work independently and as a team
