Responsibilities:
• Perform inspections, maintenance and repairs on our salmon farming equipment.
• Engage and manage contractors as required.
• Ensure our ‘Predictive and Preventive Maintenance’ plan is carried out as intended by the Saltwater Maintenance
Team.
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, electrical code specifications and schematics in order to effectively
troubleshoot, maintain and repair equipment.
• Optimize equipment safety and efficiency by participating in continuous improvement projects and completing work
orders according to PM schedules
• Work on other projects as required.
• Be self starting and reliable dealing with a wide range of people in all levels of the building/sub-contracting industry.
• Work with other trades, and sometimes contractors, in a flexible team environment to achieve greater efficiencies
and productivity.
• Assist the production team in the efficient operation of the equipment.
• Work safely and ensure safety of staff and of outside contractors working on site as per Marine Harvest Canada
policy and procedures.
Qualifications & Experience:
Requirements:
• Hold Red Seal Certification as an Electrician – 3rd or 4th year apprentice may be considered.
• Hold an Electrical Field Representative Certificate is ideal.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Experience on Control systems, Frequency Drives, PLCs.
• Experience with computerized/automated equipment would be ideal.
• Ability to produce and read electrical schematics.
• Experience with networking.
• Strong computer skills.
• Be committed and self-motivated, with excellent organizational and communicational skills.
• Good working knowledge of current electrical Standards and Regulations.
• A valid driver’s license.
• SVOP + boat experience would be considered an asset.
This is a camp-based position with and option of 8 days in 6 days out or 4 days in 3 days out shift. Working in our five
production areas around beautiful Vancouver Island.
