North Island Crisis and Counselling Centre Society is seeking an individual to fill the position of Early Childhood Educator Assistant in a new 12 space centre located in Port Hardy, BC.
As an ECEA you will be providing direct care for children birth to 3 years of age in a caring and responsive centre based environment. You will be working under the direction of the senior educators and or the manager. Within a family-centred practice model you will assist families in acquiring information about infant/child development and community. You will work in collaboration with families to encourage the child’s development within the context of their daily routines and resources.

Communicates clearly both orally and in writing, using good interpersonal skills
Well-developed time, planning and organizational abilities
Demonstrates knowledge of early child development
Understanding of positive child guidance
Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
Keen understanding of family centered practice

Qualifications & Experience:
Preferred Qualifications
Provincial Certification as an Early Childhood Care and Education Assistant; working towards ECE certification
Supervised experience working with families, infant and children.
