Details:
Eligibility: First Nations persons living within the Nuu-chah-nulth Territory.
Applicants living outside of the Territory are still eligible if they will be moving to the Territory for the duration of the work term (even if temporarily).
Work term: 8 weeks starting July 8th and ending September 2nd, 2019
Hours: 10:00am - 4:00pm Mondays through Fridays
Working under the direction of the gallery's owner, the Fine Woodworking Assistant will assist with woodworking and art preparation projects. The candidate is expected to communicate as needed with the gallery's visitors and clients.
The Fine Woodworking Assistant will be guided by the owner to learn and develop fine woodworking skills relevant to the joinery/cabinetry trade, and will be taught related cultural knowledge.

Knowledge of Nuu-chah-nulture culture, woodworking and west coast art styles are assets but not strict requirements.
