Established Campbell River Family Law firm is seeking a full time permanent Administrator/Paralegal with a minimum of 5 years' experience.
The firm is a sole practitioner office as such this career is a dynamic and complex role that is an integral part of how the office functions.
The candidate will be the first point of contact for our office so ensuring that clients have a warm and welcoming experience starts with you!
The responsibilities of this role will include but, will not be limited to:
- Knowledge in the fields of Family Law, Conveyance, Wills & Estate and some Litigation
-Work directly with one lawyer
-Answering phones, responding to messages/inquires
-Communicating with clients: directly, by telephone and by regular and email
-Scheduling of clients
-Perform conflict searches
-Diarize, maintain and monitor due dates;
-Maintain and manage BF and filing system
-Transcription of dictation
-Provide all Administration assistant functions relating to document production, including: keyboard, scanning, photocopying, and sending faxes and emails;
-Preparation of correspondence and documents;
-Preparation of pleadings binders and lists of documents;
-Interviewing clients
-Initial drafting of pleadings
-Billing, collection and deposit of monies, both to general and trust accounts and recording same
-Other administrative duties as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
The ideal candidate for this position will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Law Firm and:
-Have excellent written and verbal communication;
-Be a self-starter and have a proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment;
-Be detail oriented;
-Understand strict confidentiality;
-Perform well under pressure;
-Have a good working knowledge of Windows 10 and MS Suite including Word, Outlook and Excel
-E-File using BC Online and LTSA;
-Bookkeeping experience (to do daily entries); and
-Have experience with PC Law (willing to train if necessary)
