As the Painter, you will be responsible for maintaining all painting aspects and appearance of the Head Office and will assist in painting related responsibilities at residential and commercial properties in the Campbell River area. Reporting to the Office Manager, you will perform a variety of painting related functions to ensure the overall aesthetic of these sites.
Your contributions to the team include:
- Repair all damages incurred in walls and touch-up or repaint surface
- Complete major repaint projects at our Head Office including hallways, common areas and office spaces
- Perform all tasks in a neat and efficient manner - this includes cleaning all brushes, rollers and equipment and returning equipment to their designated storage facility at the end of each day
- Complete maintenance painting on exteriors of houses, cabins, and other buildings and structures to established standards
- Communicate with Manager concerning priority of projects
- Use protective equipment when necessary while following all safety procedures
- Communicate with Manager when paint and/or supplies are low
- Perform other painting related duties as required
What you need to be successful:
- 2+ years’ experience in the painting trade
- Knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, and application techniques common to the painting trade
- Skilled in the preparation and application of paints, stains, and surface preparation materials to a wide variety of surfaces
- In good physical condition with mobility and flexibility to use ladders, access work in confined spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs
- Well organized and work with a sense of urgency
- Work well under pressure and maintain a pleasant demeanor under stress
- Maintain a high standard of safety and cleanliness
- Possess good communication skills and be able to accurately read and act on instructions
- Willing and able to travel around Campbell River and to Stuart Island as needed
