Details:
Assists clients to live successfully in residential settings, such as supportive housing programs. Identifies client needs and risks, including physical, emotional social, vocational, and medical, and provides skill building in identified areas. Develops and implements short-term, issue-specific intervention plans within program guidelines. Plans and conducts individual and/or group counselling sessions using basic counselling techniques.
This is a temporary vacancy that will continue until the return of the incumbent. This vacancy is covering a medical leave that may extend up to 12 months. The anticipated end date will be upon the return of the incumbent or 18 months, whichever comes first. Two weeks’ notice will be given when the incumbent is ready to return. This position includes a comprehensive 100% employer-paid benefit package, enrolment in our defined-benefit pension, the Municipal Pension Plan, and three weeks of paid vacation.

Qualifications & Experience:
Diploma in a related human/social service field and;
A minimum of one (1) year recent related experience which should include experience working with high risk adults in helping capacities
Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
