The Role
Reporting to the Director, Indigenous Investment, the Manager, Partnerships will work to enhance Mosaic’s extensive suite of MoU’s and arrangements with First Nations. As part of our corporate commitment to Progressive Aboriginal Relations, the Manager, Partnerships will be responsible for advancing the company’s commitments to improve long-term certainty for all parties.
- Developing and maintaining policies and processes to ensure relationships with First Nations are facilitated efficiently
- Establishing and improving relationships with First Nations and other partners to ensure ongoing support for Company activities
- Leading annual initiatives to maintain and advance Progressive Aboriginal Relations Certification
- Identifying opportunities to enhance staff awareness and improve communication, collaboration and transparency in partnership management activities
- Monitoring industry/First Nations developments, researching emerging issues and providing recommendations on findings
- Developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the distribution of information, and support agreement development and negotiations
- Supporting development and maintenance of log sourcing and partnership agreements with First Nations, Community Forests and Woodlot Licence holders
- Assisting in department strategic planning initiatives, providing input into goals and priority development
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree or diploma in Forestry, Business Administration, Commerce, Communications, Public Relations, Community Development or other related equivalent
- Related professional designation(s) and /or certifications preferred but not required; Negotiation skills training through an accredited/recognized program is preferred but not required
- Class 5 Driver Licence
- Experience in natural resource management
- Experience managing multiple projects and assignments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Experience dealing with politically sensitive and significant forest industry issues is preferred but not required; Knowledge of diverse Indigenous governance structures, traditions, and protocols
- Results oriented strategic thinker with the ability to manage complex and confidential issues with extreme sensitivity and professionalism
