The Role
Reporting to the Director, Government Relations & Communications, the Communications Manager creates and implements high-quality external communications strategies while supporting internal programs to enhance Mosaic’s overall brand and broadly strengthen relationships with stakeholders.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
> Safely cultivates and supports public relations programs to enhance Mosaic’s image, including key message development and media monitoring;
> Provides communications expertise and support for various initiatives and corporate objectives;
> Supports the communication strategy through development of content for all corporate communications, social media platforms, news releases, marketing materials, speeches, website content, newsletters, etc.
> Collaborates with the People and Business Information Services departments to support internal communications, including Mosaic’s intranet;
> Supports corporate events and initiatives through developing event plans, invite lists, materials, equipment and media outreach;
> Remains informed of emerging trends and new developments in digital and social media and makes recommendations based on findings; and
> Manages the company’s branding material, including templates, logos, photography, artwork and promotional items.
Qualifications & Experience:
Required Skills and Experience
> Undergraduate Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Forestry or related discipline;
> Minimum 2 years of experience in a corporate communications or public affairs role;
> Superior written and oral communication skills;
> Experience managing multiple projects and assignments;
> Demonstrated experience in collaborating with diverse teams, including executive leadership.
> Experience in creating content for various media platforms and/or running communications/ advertising campaigns;
> Experience in media tracking to record and report on corporate impressions across multiple media platforms; and
> Knowledge of the forest sector, public policy, and the role of private managed forests in BC’s economy is preferred but not required.
