The Role
The Heavy Duty Mechanic will work as part of a team providing quality operational repairs and preventative maintenance services. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
> Maintain Boom Boats, loaders, and other heavy logging equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions;
> Diagnose faults or malfunctions using deduction and testing equipment to determine extent of repair required; and
> Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
This is a full-time position and will require day shift, afternoon shift and swing shifting.
The Heavy Duty Mechanic is a safety sensitive role.
Qualifications & Experience:
Required Skills and Experience:
> Certified Heavy Duty Mechanic or Heavy Duty Mechanic Apprentice;
> A level 3 first aid ticket would be considered an asset;
> Demonstrated commitment to safety;
> Good communication skills;
> Strong work ethic and ability to work in fast paced environments; and
> Experience with Finning and/or Kenworth equipment and/or other logging equipment will be considered an asset.
