RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:
The Sobering & Assessment Program is a year-long, low-barrier overnight shelter program utilizing a 16-bed emergency facility open to street-involved individuals. The Shelter Worker ensures a healthy and safe environment for clients/guests. Additionally, the incumbent may provide emotional support and crisis intervention.
The successful candidate will:
- Monitor the activities of guests and be available for personal, practical and moral support.
- Accurately record day-to-day happenings/incidents using established methods.
- Assisting guests to access clean/dry clothing and laundry services.
- Coordinate guest care as it relates to security issues.
- Carry out inspections.
- Prepare and serve meals/snacks/beverages.
- Perform janitorial duties of the facility as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Consent to work a flexible schedule.
Please Note: Due to the nature of a low-barrier shelter, applications should be aware that they will be working with intoxicated individuals.
OVERNIGHT HOURS:
Friday - Monday; 11:00 pm - 7:00 am
