Badinotti North America is an innovative solutions company, engineering and manufacturing products and services that specialize in Fibre, Netting, and Services for Marine and Terrestrial containment barrier needs around the world. Our products and services include Netting and fibre product development and automated and tele-robotics systems; primarily for the offshore and subsea market space. Our solutions are designed, built and tested in-house by a skilled team of engineers, technicians and support staff.
General duties include supporting product designers in the testing, development and production of subsea robotic technology, terrestrial and marine and SCADA and Process automation solutions. Good communication skills and a willingness to learn are required, and students with an eager attitude and excellent work ethic will gain the most benefit as this will be a labour-intensive position. You will be exposed to aspects of the key disciplines involved: Electrical, Mechanical, Software and Project Management, particularly from a product development and operational aspect from design to prototyping and commercial implementation.
Your work will be hybrid (Remote Work from Home, Technical Facilities, Field Work) with the oppourtunity of work among a diverse group of technicians with experience from a broad scope of industrial sectors and applications. Ongoing projects include: Subsea Antifouling technologies, System SCADA implementations (static and dynamic), process automation developments in manufacturing and processing utilizing high and low technology concepts.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Create concepts and develop detailed designs for both large and small-scale projects.
· Generate and review drawings, calculations, and other documentation
· Prepare drawings, schematics, reports and proposals as required
· Prepare specifications for COTS components; find and evaluate suppliers
· Work with project team to ensure on-time project completion
· Assist in system assembly, integration, and troubleshooting
· Strive to ensure quality and timely delivery of finished products to clients
Position type: 4-month co-op term with potential to extend to an 8-month term

Qualifications & Experience:
Required Qualifications
· Currently enrolled in a Mechanical, Mechatronics, Control System, or Electrical Engineering program. (Preferably a 3-4th year student)
Required Skills & Experience
· Machine and mechanisms design
· Working knowledge of drive and actuation technologies
· Familiarity with the operation of instrumentation, sensors and other electro-mechanical components and controls.
· 3D mechanical design
· Mechanical assembly skills
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
· Technical documentation: specifications, requirements, test plans/reports, operator manuals etc.
· Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
· Proven ability to meet deadlines/ successful completion of deliverables
· Analytical, thorough, resourceful and detail-oriented
· Team and customer service-focused
· Self-motivated, hardworking, flexible
· Thorough working knowledge of AutoCAD Software (Inventor, Fusion)
The above job requirements will be further developed during the term. All requirements are not needed to apply, but some experience will be helpful. This position may include international travel for project for client specific projects. Project details will be discussed in Interview process. This position will be labour intensive and fast paced in real business setting and considered an integral part of product development and design for future company successes.
