Details:
Reporting to Director of Operations, the executive assistant will work directly with Chief and Council and the Director of Operations, with the primary duties being:
• Maintaining clear communications between Chief and Council and WWK’s administration as well as Treaty on related matters
• Develop public announcements and any related news releases, fact sheets and photo/video communication materials for newsletter/website/other mediums
• Direct phone and other enquiries to appropriate members of council
• Proactively identify strategic communication issues and opportunities
• Act as a media liaison as required
• Work with WWK personnel regarding correspondence/information/reports required by Chief and Council and or board of directors
• Prepare Chief and Council meeting minutes and agenda topics in a timely manner
• Prepare meeting packages on a timely manner for all council members prior to meetings
• Other duties as assigned from time to time, front counter
• Maintain communications/recording/reporting for WWK in house committees

Qualifications & Experience:
• A Degree or certificate in Business administration
• 3-4 years of directly related work experience in the majority of duties listed in this job description, including: supporting the development and implementation of communications strategies and initiatives; developing effective and compelling communications materials and content for a variety of channels; managing online communications
• Experience in planning and developing content for social media, including tracking and reporting
• A minimum of 2 years experience in an executive support role
• Knowledge of council, committee and board systems
• Knowledge of treaties and treaty making in British Columbia
• The ability to accurately listen, understand, and then respond appropriately taking into consideration cultural nuances
• In depth knowledge of local First Nation cultural and political environment
• Advanced computer and Microsoft Suite Skills
• Demonstrated sound work ethics
• Fantastic organizational skills and detail-oriented.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Brilliant written and verbal communication skills.
