Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, direct and control the Purchasing Department
- Implement scalable processes, procedures and documents to ensure successful department growth
- Build a strong team of high performing purchasers through proactive recruiting, training and retention
- Research and forecast market and industry trends, and make recommendations to senior management to support strategic decision making
- Build new supplier relationships and ensure current relationships are maintained
- Negotiate long term and project specific supply agreements
- Report on department and project purchasing performance
- Help drive project success by ensuring the department provides a high level of service throughout the full procurement cycle
- Provide support to development planning and construction estimating teams
Qualifications & Experience:
- 3+ Years of construction purchasing experience
- 2+ years of management/supervisory experience
- Complete knowledge of all products and phases of wood frame construction
- Self motivated and able to operate with minimal supervision
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and decision making abilities
- Able to effectively prioritize in a high speed environment
- Strong internal and external relationship builder
- Proficient in MS Office and project management/ERP software
- Able to use MS Excel at a medium level (e.g. vlookup, pivot tables) to merge and analyze data from multiple sources
